The Rototuna Senior High School 1st XI has capped off an outstanding campaign by winning the Division 2 Championship in the Hamilton and Waikato Valley Secondary Schools Term 1 competition, completing the season unbeaten! 👏
In the final against Cambridge High School 2nd XI, RHS were asked to bat first and posted a strong total of 175. The team then delivered a composed and disciplined bowling performance, restricting Cambridge to 143 all out. Relentless pressure with the ball, sharp fielding, and excellent teamwork proved decisive in securing the title.
This achievement reflects a remarkable journey over the past few years. The group has faced challenges along the way, showing resilience, commitment, and a genuine desire to grow. Their team spirit and skill development have reached an impressive level — and there’s still plenty of potential ahead! 🔥
Huge thank you to coach Brendon who has supported this team throughout the season 🙌
🏏 Cricket: RHS vs RHS
Our 1st XI took on the 2nd XI — a first for them at this level. The 1sts came out on top by 3 wickets, but it turned into a much tighter contest than expected. Credit to the 2nds for a strong performance and for making it a really competitive match.
Coach Brendon said he was proud of the lads. With one round still to play, they’ve now secured a place in the Division 2 final — a great sign of the continued improvement and effort the group has been putting in all season.
👏 A big shoutout also to the RHS Thunder Year 7/8 boys cricket team, who wrapped up their season on Saturday. The boys have worked hard and shown great improvement, with many achieving personal best performances. Their energy, enthusiasm, and team spirit have been awesome to see at every game and training.
Thanks to coach Steve💪
