Cricket is a popular summer sport at RHS with 6 teams currently entered across a range of formats. There is a team and format on offer to suit all cricketing levels.
Term 1 matches: 2026
Secondary Girls: Tuesday afternoon T20 Dates 17th February - 24th March - 6 rounds.
Senior Boys: Saturday’s 50 overs Dates 21st February - 28th March - 6 rounds
Yr 9/10 Boys (T20): Wednesday T20 Dates 18th February - 25th March - 6 rounds
Yr 9/10 Boys Saturday 40 over Colts Dates 21st February - 28th March - 6 rounds
Intermediate (yr 7 / 8 )Girls: Wednesday afternoon 16 overs Dates 18th February - 25th March - 6 rounds
Intermediate (yr 7 / 8 )Boys: Saturday mornings 30 over Dates 21st February - 28th March - 6 rounds
Games are played around Hamilton and surrounding areas
Play HQ Scoring
All games are live scored through the Play HQ app. As a parent, you may be asked to help with scoring at games, which can feel a bit daunting. Northern Districts Cricket will host info evenings to teach you about Play HQ
2026 Tournaments
- Term 1
WIMS (yr 7 / 8 ) Mixed Cricket - Tuesday 24 February 2026 - University of Waikato, Hamilton
- Term 4
A possible yr 9/10 T20 tournament may be held in November subject to confirmation from ND and AK cricket
Practice times:
TBC with respective coaches for each team
Practices are held on school grounds, utilising our school nets, and cricket pitch
Pre-season / Trials - 2026
All students who register via Kindo will be placed into an age appropriate team. Yr 9/10 boys can choose between T20 or 40 over format. Trials/muster will happen if there are multiple teams able to be formed.
Snr Boys Cricket Muster - Monday February 2nd. 3.30-5.00pm. All boys yr 10 and above invited to attend.
Team Finalisations
Teams will be announced via email, and then Team Reach groups set up for each team for communication.

We rely on volunteers to coach our cricket teams. We are very lucky to have a number of parents who volunteer to fill these roles, and we'd love to hear from you if you are keen on helping our teams. Please indicate on the registration form if you are happy to do this.

Yr 9/10 Colts - Numbered Cricket shirt provided by Sport Dept and white trousers (supplied by player)
Snr Girls - Cricket shirt provided by Sport Dept and black trousers (supplied by player)
Snr Boys 2nd XI - PE shirt and white trousers (supplied by player)
Snr Boys 1st XI - Numbered Cricket shirt provided by Sport Dept and white trousers (supplied by player)
You will need to provide your own:
Trousers
Protector
Batting equipment
Footwear
Appropriate underwear in order to wear a protector
Other Information: The school provides bats and pads and helmets to each team, but students are encouraged to use their own bats, pads, helmets, etc if they have them.
