Hockey had a highly successful 2025 season with numbers growing, and our Senior Girls and Senior Boys, U15 Girls and U15 Boys all making their respective grade finals, with 3 championships being won. Our AIMS team also made the knockout finals at AIMS Games. We had 9 teams across all age groups with a mix of competitive and social teams.
Competition Season:
Runs for Terms 2 and 3. Dates as below.
Intermediate Games are played on Friday nights: 1st May - 28th May
Secondary Games are played on various nights
Monday: U18 C/D grade 4 May - 24 August
Tuesday: U15 A/B grade 5 May - 25 August
Wednesday: U18 A/B grade 6 May - 26 August

We rely on volunteers to coach our sports teams. We are very lucky to have a number of parents who volunteer to fill these roles, and we'd love to hear from you if you are keen on helping our teams. Please indicate on the registration form if you are happy to do this.
Trial Dates:
Seniors and Juniors (Yrs 9-13)
Boys - Monday Feb 16th and Friday Feb 20th (St Pauls)
Girls - Monday Feb 16th and Friday Feb 20th(Waikato Dio TBC)
Intermediate Yr 7- Yr 8
Boys and Girls - Tuesday Feb 17th and Thursday Feb 19th(RHS)
Team Finalisations
Teams will be announced via email, and then Team Reach groups set up for each team.
*please note that students don’t have to trial - they can indicate on the Kindo form if they wish to be placed into a team with friends instead of trialling*
Tournaments 2026
WIMS Hockey Mixed team (yr 7 and 8) - Date Tuesday 26th May, 2026. Gallagher Hockey Centre, Hamilton
(1st XI Boys) : Olympic Sticks (Upper NI Tier 4) - Venue Pukekohe - 31 August - 4 September 2026 or Mayhill Cup (Upper NI Tier 3) - Venue: North Harbour - 31 August - 4 September 2026.
**Please note that if you child is selected in the Snr Boys 1st XI team, the cost for attending this tournament will be approx $600 (North Harbour) or $300 (Pukekohe) **
(1st XI Girls): Mary Clinton Cup (Upper NI Tier 4) - Venue Pakuranga - 31 August - 4 September 2026 or Eveline Hankers Memorial (Lower NI Tier 4) - Venue Napier - 31 August - 4 September 2026

AIMS Hockey (Yr 7 and 8 - Mixed team) - September 7 - 11, 2025. Tauranga/Mount Maunganui.

RHS Blue PE shirt
Black PE shorts or skort
Black RHS socks - to be purchased through U Shop
You will also need shin pads, a mouth guard, a hockey stick and shoes with suitable grip for astroturf.
Senior 1st XI and U15 teams will be provided with playing kit (shirt and shorts/ skirt)
Other Information:
Goalie equipment will be supplied by the school.
