Separate competition for each term of the year
Intermediate teams play Wednesday nights (Years 7 and 8) -
Secondary teams play Thursday nights (Years 9 to 13)
All games played at the Hamilton Inline Hockey Club, 30 Old Farm Road, Hamilton East
Fees:
$80 for the season
to be paid prior to season starting using Kindo

Please note: Teams will only be entered if we have sufficient player numbers.
Uniform
The school will provide a shirt for the year.
Tracksuit pants, roller blades (supplied by the club if required free of charge)
Inline hockey stick - can be purchased from the Hockey Locker Pro Shop at the rink for approximately $50
The school and the inline hockey club has some gear available for hire / use.

Tennis is administered by Kiwi Tennis onsite, right here at RHS after school on Tuesday’s.
Players wishing to play squash play for their local club, and are invited to enter interschools events that come up.

A Google form will be released to register for this event in Term 1 2026. This is the qualifying event for the below competitions.

RHS does not currently offer a Cycling Programme. If this is something you would be interested in helping with, please make contact with the Sports Department.

Track Cycling
Hamilton is very fortunate to have a world class indoor track facility with the Avantidrome in Cambridge, this is used from world cup events through to club racing. There is Friday night schools racing which regularly gets 50-60 riders in attendance and there is also Wednesday night club racing and both nights start at 6pm. Come along and have a look, it's free admission and great to watch.
To start to ride on the track all you need to do is attend a “Have a Go” and then get accredited, and you can hire bikes and helmets to achieve this. www.avantidrome.co.nz
Mountain Biking
Hamilton has a great mountain bike track in Pukete which is maintained and run by the Hamilton Mountain Bike Club www.hamiltonmtb.org.nz They have weekly club racing and the park is accessible at any time. RHS now has a great facility with the Pump Track which can be used to build your skills.
Road Cycling
The Hamilton City Cycling Club is based out at Horsham Downs School on Thursday nights from 6pm during daylight savings for club racing for all levels including beginners. They have a great junior programme running. www.hamiltoncitycycling.co.nz

Competitive Riding
At a competitive level there are schools and age group competitions for WaiBOP, North Islands and National championships each year for all the above disciplines.
Fees:
To ride in competitions or at club level you will need to join a club which is done through a Cycling NZ licence, this also covers you for insurance when racing.

Helmet and suitable clothing to start with.

Practice times:
You will need to practice riding in your own time and you do need your own horse for this team. We have a small number of riders in the school at the moment and are keen to meet more riders to build our team.

We provide a saddle blanket and shirt for our riders competing in the Inter Schools Events.

Pickleball is a new sport on offer in 2026, with it’s rising popularity within the school.
We will run our own in-house social league on our newly painted Pickleball courts (RHS Netball courts) with a structured draw and all equipment being provided.

Day:
Monday’s. Starts February 9th - concludes March 30th - 8 weeks
Time: 3.30pm - 4.30pm
Sign up on Kindo. Students can form their own teams each week. This will be limited to the first 50 signups on Kindo.
Practice times:
No practices for this sport, just turn up and play.
