The RHS Rowing programme is affiliated with Hamilton Rowing Club (HRC). This affiliation enables use of all equipment (boats, oars), coaching and club gym access.
Training sessions are run in conjunction with existing programmes for Hillcrest and Rototuna High Schools which normally include 4-6 training sessions per week from Oct. They will be able to participate in 2 weekend camps. There is an opportunity for school representation at the Maadi Cup which is one of the largest secondary school events in the sporting calendar.
Monthly regattas are held during the season where students compete against schools from around the country either representing club or school. Other activities that students can participate in are organised around the life of the club.
Rowing is not a cheap activity needing to cover coaching, boat operations, facilities and equipment costs, transportation to most regattas, and most regatta fees. The fee has been set at $2000 this year. If students participate in the learn to row program the fee for that will be taken out of the year's subs.
Regattas
Most of these occur annually and will be attended. Other club regattas and events may be available.

13 -15 February 2026 (TBC) – Junior Regatta | Karapiro
17 – 21 February 2026 - NZ Rowing Nationals (Club) | Karapiro
6 – 8 March 2026 – North Island SS Champs | Karapiro
23-29 March 2026 – Maadi Cup - Lake Ruataniwha | Twizel (cost for this is $1400 per person travelling)
