Cheerleading is a popular and successful sport at RHS, with teams training throughout the year, and attending 3-4 major competitions in term 3 and term 4.
In 2025, our Elite Cheerleading team were crowned National Schools Champions at the CNZ National Championships.
In 2026, we are proud to be able to offer 2 teams in our Cheerleading programme - a Jnr (yr 7/8) team, and a Snr (yr9-13) team.
Training:
Frequency: Once a week, every term
Practice is run by an outside provider:
Cheer Dynamix
Location – 28 King Street, Frankton (please note the new gym venue in 2026)
Jnr team - Wednesday's 4.15-5.45pm - starting 25th February. Coaches: Katie and Eve.
Snr team - Friday's 4.00-5.30pm - starting 27th February. Coaches: Ophelia and Maia.
**please note that transport will be provided from school for those that need it on Friday due to the timing of the class**
Fees:
$160 per term (covers tuition and training fees)
$120 initial registration fee (covers Cheer Dynamix registration, music, licensing, and choreography fees for the year)
After first enrolment via Kindo ($280), fees will be added to your Kindo account for terms 2, 3, and 4($160)
Competitions:
Cheerfest - Auckland - Saturday 4th July 2026
Spring Carnival - North Harbour, Auckland - Sunday 13th September 2026
Cheerfactor - Hamilton - Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September 2026
CNZ Nationals - Rotorua - Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October, 2026
Competition entry fees will be charged separately and these are expected to be approximately $60 each.
Uniform:
A uniform will be provided for the season. There is $40 hireage for this. This is a one-off charge for the year, and will cover all their competitions. This charge will be applied to Kindo during term 3. The hirage fee enables us to update uniforms without students needing to purchase them.
The uniform will be issued by Cheer Dynamix, Please note that Cheer Dynamix will charge an admin fee and refundable bond at the time of collection - this is separate to the school charge.
Athletes will also be expected to purchase a uniform hairbow from Cheer Dynamix if they don’t already have one from previous seasons.
Further information:
The team is also expected to train during school holidays leading into competition season in last 2 terms of year. This normally involves 1 training between terms 2 and 3, and 2 trainings between terms 3 and 4. More information will be given upon team formation.
A full cheerleading handbook will be emailed out to all families once registered through Kindo.
