Volleyball is the most popular summer sport at RHS, with 33 teams entered across all grades over the 2025 year. We look forward to seeing this increased growth in 2026.
TERM 1:
Senior Secondary Competition (Years 11 to 13) Term 1 only 2026:
Season:
Div 1, Grading Friday Feb 13th and Saturday Feb 14th.
5 weeks Saturday's Feb 14th to March 14th
***please note that some Div 1 games may be played on Friday nights, and may require travelling to the home team's venue***
Div 2 and below, 5 weeks Saturday's Feb 21st to March 21st.
Referee Course: Date Monday February 9th 5pm at Hamilton Boys High - details will be sent out - but will be compulsory for Snr Boys and Snr Girls Prem teams to attend this. Paid for by the Sports Dept.
**Please note that we do allow yr 10’s who are confident and have played before to play in these teams - please ask us in the Sports Dept at [email protected] if you’d like to discuss**
Years 7 and 8: Term 1, 3, and 4 2026 (note this is not offered in term 2)
Term 1 Dates:
Week 1: Wednesday 11th March
Week 2: Wednesday 18th March
Week 3: Wednesday 25th March
Week 4: Wednesday 1st April
2 games per night. 1 duty. Each team requires a parent to manage. Games start from 4pm onwards. 20 minute games.
This is a social league. There are no trials or practices. Students are placed in teams with their friends.
Registrations on Kindo will open in term 1. We will reopen these in term 3, for term 3 and 4 teams
TERM 3:
Junior Secondary (yrs 9-10), Term 3-4 2026
Thursday nights or Saturday mornings depending on entries.
Venues: The Peak, and Hillcrest High

Intermediate Yr 7- Yr 8 (WIMS Team only)

Team Finalisations
Teams will be announced via email, and then Team Reach groups set up for each team.
*please note that students don’t have to trial - they can indicate on the Kindo form if they wish to be placed into a team with friends instead of trialling*
Practice Times and Venue:
TBC by coach. Venues will always be in The Peak, subject to availability.
Tournament dates 2026:
WIMS (yr 7 and 8) - The Peak, Hamilton. Date: Tuesday March 3rd.
Trials for these teams will be held on February 11th, and these will be advertised on Schoology.
NZSS Senior Championships, (yrs 11-13) Palmerston North, 23-27 March 2026
**Please note that if your child is selected in the Prem team, the cost for attending this tournament will be approx $500**
North Island Senior Satellite Comp (yrs 11-13), Venue Waitakere, 25-27 March 2026
This is subject to confirmation - we may send our 2026 Prem Reserve teams to this competition. More information will be shared very early in 2026 if this is the case.
**Please note that if your child is selected in the Prem Reserve team, the cost for attending this tournament will be approx $500**
North Island Junior SS Champs (Yrs 9/10) - Venue Auckland or Wellington, 17-20 November 2026.
**Please note that if your child is selected in this team, the cost for attending this tournament will be approx $500 (Auckland) or $700 (Wellington)**
