This ANZAC day felt especially meaningful for our Manukura as they planted poppies and attended the Memorial Park dawn service to honour those who gave their lives in service. Standing in solidarity in the quiet of the morning gave them time to truly pause and remember - not just on what happened in the past, but on the shared responsibility entrusted to us all to never forget the stories, sacrifices, and enduring lessons of those who served.
The Manukura came away from the service with a deepened sense of gratitude, reminding them how fortunate we all are to live in a country where the courage and resilience of those who came before us is recognised and remembered. In a time where there is still conflict in the world, the service was a powerful reminder that peace should never be taken for granted. Instead, it’s something we all play a role in protecting - through unity, understanding, and respect for one another.
For our head students, it was an honour for them to attend the dawn service on behalf of RSHS, an event worthy of tradition. On behalf of the Manukura: “We hope that students continue this ANZAC legacy, not only by showing their support for those who have served our country, but by inspiring a deepened sense of gratitude, a strengthened connection to our past, and reminding us of the importance of peace in the present”.
