The TRUE CRIME module classes (Legal Studies and English) were very fortunate to have a guest speaker this week. Steve Braunias, award-winning author and journalist, travelled from Auckland to share his insider perspective on a high-profile murder trial. The students were treated to a very authentic and insightful talk, followed by a lively Q and A.
Steve was impressed by our students’ critical thinking and also complimented their excellent questions! The classes have written their own 'feature articles' and described him as 'charismatic, passionate, and enlightening.'
Having an expert from the field who connects both curriculum areas in his mahi so vividly was a powerful (as well as highly entertaining) learning experience.
