Hamilton City Council is launching the Hamilton City Youth Council, and this is an exciting opportunity for young people who want to have a voice in their city.
The Youth Council will bring together 8–12 rangatahi aged 16–24 who live, work, or study in Kirikiriroa. As a member, you’ll share your ideas, represent young people, and help shape decisions that affect your community.
This is a great chance to build leadership, teamwork, and governance skills, and gain real-world experience that can support future study and career pathways. You don’t need any previous experience — just an interest in making a difference and working alongside others.
Applications open: 2 February – 27 February 2026
More information and the expression of interest form will be shared soon.
If you’re keen to have your voice heard and be part of something meaningful, this could be for you!
