Initially, each school will send 4 students for a 3 week language and cultural exchange. We will be welcoming Kumon students in March and will be sending RJHS to Kumon in October.
We are hoping to make this as accessible as possible, so all tuition fees will be waived. Travelling RJHS students who host a Kumon homestay student will also have their accommodation costs at the Kumon boarding facility waived (but will forfeit homestay income). This leaves travel, insurance and incidental spending costs for families to cover.
As this is a language and cultural exchange and our students will spend a significant amount of time in Kumon classes, we will be prioritising Year 10 students who have committed to learning Japanese at RJHS (in either Modules or Flight Times).
We will begin seeking expressions of interest for this exchange next term, so please keep an eye out in upcoming newsletters.
