We all knew Mia was something special and this latest accolade is a fantastic recognition for the amount of hard work she has put into her athletics!
Being selected as a talent athlete within High Performance Sport New Zealand is a significant achievement and enables Mia to gain access to some knowledge and support from New Zealand's best to extend her sporting abilities.
They have national training facilities in Auckland, Cambridge, Karapiro and Christchurch and smaller training hubs in Wellington, Dunedin and Wanaka where Mia will have access to quality facilities to improve her wonderful talents.
Mia has said that she "couldn't believe the news when I saw that I have been selected to be one of the many top talented athletes in the country and I am excited to start my new journey in my sporting aspirations. I would like to encourage anyone that loves making connections with other people and loves to have fun and be competitive at the same time, to come join a local athletics club like Hamilton City Hawks or even Fairfield athletics club. I am also available to answer any questions!"
