An epic couple of days in the capital for our RHS U15 Flag Football team last week!
After taking out the Waikato Bay of Plenty regionals a few weeks ago, our ākonga were flown down to Wellington in an all expenses paid trip to compete in the NZ Nationals! Travelling teams were put up at the incredible NZCIS facility, where we took part in training sessions run by NZ representatives and other team building activities, followed by the tournament the following day.
Our team started off strong, winning our first two games and finishing second in our pool. A tough quarter final against eventual bronze medalists meant we missed out on making top 4, but our team continued to give it their all, finishing 6th in NZ overall 💪🏽🏅.
This trip was an unforgettable experience for our team, with many core memories, new friendships and connections made!
We’d like to give a huge shoutout to team coach, Pene Kaisala, for his support and expertise over the last couple of months, as well as to all the whānau who travelled down to support us from the sidelines.
And finally, a big ngā mihi to nflflagaunz and their staff, for hosting our team and giving our ākonga the experience of a lifetime 🙌🏽.
