University of Waikato Māori Open Day
We recently had the pleasure of taking a group of students to the University of Waikato Māori Open Day. It was a fantastic day of both educational and cultural discovery. Our students gained first hand insights into university life by hearing from current Māori students about their personal journeys. Between exploring the various academic divisions and touring the beautiful campus, it was an inspiring day that gave our rangatahi a real taste of their potential future at Waikato.
University of Auckland Women in Engineering Academy
Year 11 Holiday Camp 2026
A huge congratulations to Millah Clark and Laura Klein, who were selected to attend the University of Auckland’s Year 11 Engineering Holiday Camp last month.
From 15 - 17 April, Millah and Laura joined a select group of just 54 students for an intensive, hands-on look at the world of engineering. The three-day program involved a series of practical activities and an in-depth exploration of the Faculty of Engineering and Design facilities.
With input from academic staff, industry leaders, and the Women in Engineering team, it was a high-powered environment. We are incredibly proud of Millah and Laura for their engagement in this program and for representing our school so well in a competitive tertiary space!

We covered a range of vital topics, including:
Funding Opportunities: The different types of scholarships available.
Application Expectations: What selection panels are really looking for.

For those who couldn't make it, or if you'd like to review the material, you can access the presentation slides and live links here: Scholarship Info Slides.
Missed out? Verity Coker will be holding a catch-up session for students on 8 June at 8:45am on the Te Awanui stairs. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to Verity at [email protected].
