From proactively engaging in work experience placements to furthering their academic journeys with UniStart papers and developing practical skills through Wintec Trades Academy, it's been a busy and productive period.
Our Year 13 students are making the most of real-world learning with nearly 70 currently undertaking internships! Demonstrating initiative and ambition, these students have secured their own placements across a diverse range of fields, offering invaluable insights into potential future careers. From assisting in dental practices and contributing to cutting-edge behavioural psychology research at the University of Waikato, to gaining hands-on experience in pre-nursing care at Summerset Village, their experiences are truly varied. Feedback from internship providers has been overwhelmingly positive, with glowing reports of our students' strong work ethic and infectious enthusiasm.
Our UniStart students are thriving as they reach the midpoint of their university papers. We've seen some impressive results, with one student achieving the highest mark in their paper – a testament to their hard work and dedication! UniStart offers a unique and valuable chance to experience university study while still at school. As Term 2 begins, so too will the journey of university scholarship applications. To ensure our students are well-prepared, the Pathways team will be holding dedicated information sessions to explain the process in detail. We also encourage whānau to join us for a scholarship information evening on Thursday, May 15th. Please save the date to learn more about supporting your student's future studies.
