University of Waikato Whanau Evening

Join us for a special University of Waikato Whānau Evening right here at our school!

The University of Waikato team will be with us on Wednesday 23 July at 6:00 PM in the staffroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for students and parents to learn all about life at Waikato.

You'll get to hear about various degree programmes, find out about scholarship opportunities, and learn more about accommodation options. It's the perfect chance to ask any questions you have about studying at Waikato.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Unistart Success

A huge congratulations to our amazing student Amy Hodges for her outstanding achievement in the Unistart ECONS101 paper this past semester.

Amy achieved an incredible paper average of 99.01%, placing her at the top of the Unistart class and an impressive 6th overall among all first-year students.

Her hard work has also been recognised with a prestigious Vice Chancellor's Scholarship, which will support her future studies at the University of Waikato.

We are incredibly proud of Amy and wish her all the best as she continues her academic journey.

Gateway Success

This past term, a fantastic group of our students successfully completed the GRIP Gateway Programme.

Through this program, students gained valuable, hands-on experience in the retail sector, working at Woolworths and Mitre 10. They developed crucial skills like time management, customer service, and communication, all while earning extra credits towards their studies.

A huge congratulations to the ten students who completed the course! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication.

Industry Insider

We're excited to announce the launch of our new 'Industry Insider' series, with our first session kicking off on Wednesday 31 July at 8:45 AM in Te Po Tamaku.

Our first guest is the amazing Cian Parker. The goal of this series is to introduce students to a wide range of career paths and job roles they might not have considered before. Cian’s insights will be invaluable in helping them explore new possibilities and think about their own future careers.

We highly recommend that all Year 11, 12, and 13 students attend to broaden their horizons and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to ask questions.

Learn more about Cian:

Cian Parker (Ngāpuhi) is an award-winning performer, writer, and theatre maker. Her multiple awards include the Creative New Zealand Ngā Manu Pīrere award, ‘Most Promising Emerging Artist’ at the New Zealand Fringe Awards, The Arts Foundation’s 2021 Springboard Award, and the ‘New Playwright Award’ at the 2021 Wellington Theatre awards.
