PULSE allows students to anonymously share their feelings and also reach out for support, helping advisors respond to individual needs and enabling the school to address overall well-being patterns.
Our fortnightly PULSE Reports show students generally feel well-provided for in terms of basic needs and have supportive home environments. Students consistently scored highly when asked anonymous questions related to: Have Enough Food, Access to Necessities and Home Climate.
We are encouraged by a consistent upward trend in resolved help requests, demonstrating that advisors are actively following up with students. While participation rates vary across Iwi and Hapū groups, we continue to encourage all students to check-in to provide better insights into their wellbeing.
The fortnightly reports also highlight key areas where students may be struggling, notably Meeting Expectations, Emotion Regulation, and Challenging Emotions. The school is actively addressing these by clarifying and communicating expectations, promoting realistic self-expectations, and teaching coping strategies within our advisory programmes, reinforcing our focus on Social and Emotional Learning.
