They focus on empowering young people to have a voice in governance spaces, regularly making submissions to local and central government consultations, as well as organising various events that align with young people’s passions. On 24 May, the inaugural Rangatahi Voices Youth Awards was held at the Waikato Regional Council. There continues to be a strong representation on this forum by students from our school.
Four categories were recognised at these awards:
Personal Growth/Resilience
Community Contribution
Cultural Excellence
Environmental Action
The Senior High had the honor of being asked to present the Community Contribution award, in acknowledgment of the continued support by both Rototuna Junior and Senior High for this forum.
It was a wonderful celebration of the positive difference our youth are making to our community. A big congratulations to one of our own students recognised on the night for her contribution to Cultural Excellence, Vennela Puvvula!
