Jess and Issie are helping fundraise for the National Junior Dog Training camp. This is a yearly camp that they, and others from around New Zealand, attend. The fundraising that a number of Junior Dog Training members do, allows the camp fees to be maintained at a low and affordable level each year.
So far Jess and Issie have:
Run one, and are planning their second weekend training seminar. They are organising new students to come and learn about ability. This involves advertising, finding dogs for the students to borrow, and also instructing students in these sessions.
As part of a team, they run the Junior Dog Training club benefit show. This is an official agility event and was open around New Zealand for agility competitors to enter and attend. The girls found sponsorships, made posts in Facebook groups, organised prizes, organised raffles and the JDT team ran the entire event on the weekend including managing rings, which is normally the job of a very experienced adult.
The girls are exemplary members of the JDT group and NZ Dog Agility community and should be very proud of the effort they are putting in!
