Student Scope - Issue Seven

Date: 19 Jun 2024

The topic is particularly relevant to Senior High, because most students are eligible to go for their licence. It’s a good idea to start studying at least three months before you take the test. Here’s a rough timeline that might help you, or someone you know, to obtain their learner licence:

Three months before the test, you should try to get the handbook, or find an online version of it. Read a little each day to slowly build your knowledge.

Two months before your test, you should start taking notes of key ideas, points that might come up in the test, or topics that you have trouble remembering. You could also start taking practice tests or going to a class if you learn better that way.

One month before the test, you should continue to revise your notes and the handbook. There are some cool apps and websites that turn learning the road code into a game, so be sure to try those.

One or two weeks before you take the test, you should read the handbook one more time, and do plenty of practice tests.

The day before the test, you should relax, have any paperwork ready, and get a good night’s sleep--you’ve got this!

In the end, everyone has their own studying method, so just do what works for you. Good luck, and happy driving!
