The Junior Boys Prem Team finished their season just over three weeks ago, playing the Silver Grade final against St Johns. 💪🏀
Despite being unbeaten all season and having beaten St Johns previously, the final was played on St Johns’ home court. The boys played hard but fell short in a close game, with some standout moments—including Ichiro Zaya-Gonzalez’s incredible block in the final quarter.
It’s been a successful season, highlighted by wins over Hillcrest and strong team growth. Several players will move up to Senior High next year, strengthening the senior teams.
The team will regroup for the 2026 season, building on their progress. Thanks to all the parents and volunteers for their support, and a special shoutout to John Bilsborrow and Glenn Bilances for their ongoing coaching and management.
They also recently attended the Waikato Regional Tournament 🏀

With strong teams from Hamilton, Rotorua, and across the Waikato in attendance (including some with national-level experience), the competition was tough 💪
They battled hard and were in reach of two wins, but a few small mistakes proved costly in close matches. Despite the results, the boys gained valuable experience, built up their skillset, and tested themselves against some serious talent 🏆👏
