During week 9 of Term 3 (8-12 September) there will be no timetabled classes. Students will either be involved in:
Attending a Practice (Derived Grade) Exam or Literacy/Numeracy CAA
AND/OR Attending a subject workshop
AND/OR Progressing internal assessment work at home and/or studying for their next exam at home
Students will have this document shared with them in Whānau, which contains a schedule of the week’s exams and workshops, a blank 'timetable builder' they can use to map out what they need to attend at school and what work they can progress at home and an instruction sheet about the exams. Students will be completing the timetable builder in Whānau and will be instructed to share a copy or a photo of it with their parents/caregivers when they have finished it.
It is expected that all students enrolled in an external exam assessment will attend the relevant exam as this will generate a "derived grade” that can be used as evidence of achievement in the event of sickness or calamity during the end of year exams. It is also expected that students enrolled in a course offering a workshop will attend the workshop. Some workshops are being offered on multiple days to allow students to choose when and how often they need to attend. Teachers will be in contact via email if your student is enrolled in a course offering a workshop, but does not need to attend (eg. they are up to date or have finished their work).
