Literacy/Numeracy CAAs:

The Common Assessment Activities (CAAs) for Literacy and Numeracy that will take place on the 26th and 27th of May are the primary method used by students to gain the literacy and numeracy corequisite credits, without which they can not gain any NCEA certificates.  While many of our ākonga have already attained these credits, a significant number will be sitting these tests to gain part or all of the literacy/numeracy corequisite. If your child is sitting one of these assessments, you will have received up to three separate emails for each of the Reading, Writing and/or Numeracy CAAs your student is enrolled in, depending on what they still need, detailing what times they are, what they need to bring and how you can support them.  If you did not receive one of these emails that means that your child has already attained the literacy/numeracy corequisite.

Subject Workshops:

Not all subjects are offering workshops depending on the needs of each course.  If a workshop is offered for a course your student is enrolled in, it is expected that they will attend, unless there has been confirmation from their teacher that they do not need to.  Please note, there is also a general Maths workshop and a UE writing workshop offered for students who need help in either of these areas. If there is a clash between a Subject Workshop and a CAA, the CAA takes precedence. Click here for the CAA/Workshop timetable that will be shared with students.

Any students who are not sitting the CAAs on the 26th and 27th and have no workshops for their subjects are to stay home for those days and work on their ongoing NCEA assignments independently.  Their attendance will be marked as working from home.
