Diwali (or Deepavali) is an important and ancient Indian festival celebrated throughout India and in Hindu, Jain and Sikh communities around the world. Known as ‘The Festival of Lights’, Diwali signifies the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and the renewal of life.
Rototuna High Schools will be hosting fun, vibrant and diverse Diwali celebrations in Te Awanui (ground floor Senior High) on Thursday 7th November 6.00-8.00 pm. The Diwali Mela will include music, dance, henna, diya painting and traditional Diwali food and sweets.
Please come along and bring a plate to share; we will have tea, coffee and soft drinks available.
All members of our Rototuna High Schools whānau are welcome.
