KŌRERO FROM MIRANDA

Kia ora Rototuna e te Whānau,

The completion of NCEA examinations heralds the end of Term 4 and as I write this final newsletter I find myself reflecting on the remarkable year we have had. It is a privilege to close the year by celebrating the diverse talents and hard work of our students.

I am particularly thrilled to highlight the incredible year our rangatahi have had supported by our Pathways team. It is truly inspiring to see so many being recognised for their achievements in Wānanga Ako and Puna Wānanga, evidenced by a phenomenal 64% increase in scholarships received by our students this year. From the 35 students completing the Service Academy to those succeeding in Unistart and Gateway, we are incredibly proud of how our rangatahi are preparing for their futures.

We also celebrate the outstanding success of our Kapa Haka group, Te Tunawhakapeke, who recently competed at the Hauraki Festival. Their dedication has been rewarded by recognitions including 1st in Haka, Whakaeke, and Whaikorero, and coming second place overall in the Open division. All these achievements reflect the vibrant culture and commitment to excellence that we value at RSHS.

As you head into the summer break, please take a moment to review the important information in this issue, including details on Te Kura Summer School and advice for those travelling overseas.

To our  students who are leaving us this year, go well. We are wishing you all the best and we can’t wait to see you take flight and hear about the amazing things you are doing in the world.

On behalf of Rototuna Senior High School I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you, and your whānau, a very Merry Christmas. Have a fantastic summer break and travel safely if you are heading away.

Finally

Stay well.

Stay safe.

And we look forward to seeing you all when we return in the new year
